City Councilwoman Dr. Ella Ward and her husband, Herman, hosted a fundraising lawn party to kick off the mayoral candidacy of Chesapeake Councilman Don Carey. The event brought out a host of support from voters, political staples and new candidates running for various local offices throughout Hampton Roads. Among guests were Del. Don Scott, House Speaker for the General Assembly, Sen. Angelia Williams Graves, who represents Norfolk, Del. Cliff Hayes, who represents Chesapeake, and Vice Mayor Lue Ward of Suffolk.
