The Norfolk State Spartans football team concluded its spring football practice with its annual Green and Gold scrimmage game on Saturday (April 16) at Price Stadium. The offense outlasted the defense, winning 33-30 on the last play of the game, which featured a modified scoring system. The Spartans practiced their new 4-3 defense as well as introduced their new incoming freshmen recruits at halftime. At the end of the game, Coach Latrell Scott and Spartan players autographed posters and pocket schedules for the fans. The Spartans finished a middle-of-the-pack 4-7 last season in the MEAC and open the season at home on September 3 against ex-CIAA rival Elizabeth City State at 2 p.m.
