YWCA-South Hampton Roads Selects New President and CEO

NORFOLK
The YWCA South Hampton Roads has named Mary Kate Andris, Ed.D., its new President and CEO. Andris has almost 20 years of experience in fundraising, specifically major gifts solicitation and cultivation, planned giving, grant writing, annual fund solicitation, and event planning. She comes to the YWCA from the Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast, where she has served as the Philanthropy Director for the past three years. In that post, she and her team strengthened fundraising efforts and increased adult generated income through the implementation of a comprehensive fundraising plan.
Andris officially starts on April 4, taking over from Janice “Jay” Johnson, who has served as the Interim President and CEO for the last six months. Bear added that, “Jay has done a wonderful job leading the YW and ensuring that the very important programs and services for women, children, and families in the region have continued uninterrupted.”
