Ready Academy Fulfills 12-Yr Promise To Its First Graduates

Special to the New Journal and Guide
This year’s READY Academy K5 Graduates were joined on Sunday June 10 by 12 of the first READY Alumni Graduates of 2006 in a special program. The graduating seniors are heading to college where they will be the benefactors of a scholarship promised to them 12 years ago when they were K5 graduates.

As an act of faith the administrators of READY Academy, founded by the Historic First Baptist Church, committed to give the students a scholarship toward their college education upon their graduation from high school. Sunday, READY Academy delivered on that promise by presenting a scholarship to each student from that first K5 graduating class. The school’s high school graduate scholarship fund totaled $8,500.
The First Baptist Church READY Academy Christian School closed its Awesome 14th School Year Saturday with a very “Unique” 13th K5 Graduation Celebrating its K5 Class of 2018 and its 1st K5 Class of 2006, now members of the high school graduating Class of 2018. Both groups marched together in the graduation procession. At the end of the 2018 K5 Graduation, the 2006 Ready Alumni, now “New Mentors”, presented a Tuition Scholarship for a deserving K5 graduate planning to continue his or her education at READY Academy.
