HOW SMALL WE REALLY ARE

We work our land; we grow our crops to feed our living.
Then we make them starve and want because we are not giving.
Though there are many reasons for us to suffer these ugly scars.
This is only one more manifestation of how small we really are.
We cannot control mankind’s killing nor his senseless, ruthless plunder.
For we are like children before his lightning and his thunder.
We make fun of strange people and different customs in lands afar.
But we fail to understand that this shows how small we really are.
We take great pride and pleasure in our achievements and our deeds.
While at the same time we fail to understand others’ wants and needs.
Somehow others must know that we are concerned and we care.
Hopefully by overcoming our faults and failures and how small we really are.
