Youth Career Center of Hamton Roads Celebrates 5th Anniversary
VIRGINIA BEACH
The Youth Career Center of Hampton Roads (YCCHR) is celebrating five years of service to the Hampton Roads community.
In its five years of operation, the YCCHR has provided more than 42,000 area youth with career guidance services, financial literacy education and workplace readiness skills. It has delivered these services through a wide range of innovative programs, onsite group workshops, community events, and walk-in assistance.
Sample immersion programming has included: Rube Goldberg Engineering Days, Finding Success in the Game of Life, Mad Science Labs, and Careers in the Trades. Job preparation programming has included Summer Job Clubs, Resume Boot Camps and Recruitment Events featuring local employers.
The YCCHR also hosts an annual Summer Opportunity Fair that regularly attracts 1,500 youth looking for summer job and volunteer experiences.

The Youth Career Center of Hampton Roads is located within Pembroke Mall in Virginia Beach and provides career guidance and workplace readiness skills training to Hampton Roads youth aged 14-24. Youth are able to participate in career development workshops, employer networking opportunities, practical experience fairs, and much more!
Opportunity Inc. is governed by the Hampton Roads Workforce Development Board, serves eight jurisdictions in South and Western Hampton Roads. Opportunity Inc. It is the largest of the Commonwealth’s fifteen workforce development boards.
