Autumn Frolic Luncheon Hosted by Saint Aug’s Alumni Chapter

VIRGINIA BEACH
The Hampton Roads Alumni Chapter of Saint Augustine’s University held its 2016 Autumn Frolic Honorees Luncheon on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
The honorees were Mrs. Margie W. Coefield, Mrs. Anne Stewart, and the late Gerald Williams.
These alumni have proven their devotion to the chapter, the university, and/or the Hampton Roads community.
The proceeds from this event will be used to provide financial assistance to deserving students at Saint Augustine’s University.
In attendance were alumni from the 1940’s to the 1990’s and representatives from the National Alumni Association of Saint Augustine’s University. Alumni and guests attending the luncheon were from Virginia, North Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia.
The mistress of ceremony was Mrs. Carolyn A. Rogers; Mr. Ronald C. Richardson, the president, gave the welcome; and the invocation and grace were given by Retired Lt. Col. Ms. Earline Nelson. The entertainer for the luncheon was dancer Miss Trae Thomas of Portsmouth, Virginia.
Remarks and Saint Augustine’s University update were given by Father Joseph Green, an alumnus and former Vice Mayor of Norfolk, Virginia. The benediction was given by Rev. Dr. Keith Jones, pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church, Norfolk, Virginia.
Program committee members were Dr. George W. Brown, Shirley Colden, Marian W. Jackson, Daphne M. Miller, Sherry Miller, Carolyn A. Rogers, and Mary M. Quarles.
