Inspirational Message: God Shows Us Some Mysteries of Nature

Mysteries are all around us and whatever happens in nature can keep us humble before God. Such things as humidity, hard rain, violent wind, dust storms, hot and cold air are not our creations nor are we in control of their existence! God can mysteriously continue the secrets of nature to show us His power and control. Does human understanding have limits? How much do we know about our world? What do we know about God and our creation? With extensive scientific advancements all around us, our knowledge falls short when we consider God’s wise and awesome plans for all creatures.

Scripture lead us to believe there is supernatural power with God our Creator. We realize that there is no greater strength than God’s power within us. Even when we feel God’s help, we are humble with nature all around us which is also under God’s control. Let us think about how dependent we are on God. Keeping this thought in mind helps us to grow in faith. What dangers come when we forget this dependence? What are our limits of human understanding?

We can see mystery in many common things. Proverbs presents quite a mix of daily mysteries from animals such as the eagle silently moving across the sky or the snake silently gliding along the earth. A shift can be made to human actions such as a moving ship and human relationships. Even today, with all of scientific knowledge, so many mysteries remain. It is so important that we never lose our appreciation for the mysteries of earthly life in its various forms. This attitude will keep us humble before God. It is beyond our comprehension to understand human life completely or how small humble creatures exist! Let us read Proverbs 3:13, Job 12:7-13, Isaiah 55:8-9, and Psalms 104 to learn about God’s ways.

Some other simplest things in nature: a leaf on a tree, a raindrop, a seashell, a wild flower, moonlight or micro-organisms keep us humble and are full of mysteries as we think about God’s power. As we are convinced of our own weaknesses and stripped of all self-sufficiency and yield ourselves to the control of God, we can truly become his servants!

What about God’s plan of salvation for us? We are so fallen, so corrupt, so evil, that regeneration might not save us. We need the Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ, to stand in our place, someone whose righteousness alone is enough to make us right with God. What are some ways that our existence depends on God? Look at nature itself and see how God is everywhere and knows all. He is always present and His power makes us greater each day!
