Walgreens To Offer Free HIV Testing In More Than 150 Cities, Including Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH
On June 26 and 27, you can get a free HIV test in Virginia Beach at Walgreens on 3965 Holland Rd.
Walgreens is offering free HIV testing in 150 cities nationwide. And the Walgreens in Virginia Beach will offer free testing on June 26 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on June 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The nationwide effort is supported by the NAACP, the Kaiser Family Foundation, Black AIDS Institute, and others.
“Working in collaboration with Greater Than AIDS and various community partners during the past four years, we have helped nearly 20,000 people access free testing,” said Glen Pietrandoni, senior director of virology, specialty products and services at Walgreens, in a statement.
“We are pleased to be able to continue to help make it easier for those in the communities that we serve to know their status,” Pietrandoni said.
Records show an estimated one in seven do not know they are infected; and only three in 10 are receiving ongoing care and treatment.
