There’s no question about it! D.E.I. –Diversity, Equity and Inclusion – was called Affirmative Action from the beginning!
If you are a minority of any gender or a woman of any and all races there’s only one question that matters. What does the new/old President’s sweeping executive order/action mean for your career and the careers and jobs of your husbands, wives, sons and daughters?
Further more, what will doing away with it do to your household income and your family’s broader standard of living?
The fundamental truth of the matter is quite simple. Historically, Affirmative Action or DEI has always benefitted women not of color more than people of color in general nationwide. It’s paved the way for both groups to make invaluable contributions in every area of public and private life. It’s also given women the independence they deserve. So the question each household must decide is simple! Who really has the most to loose here?
Is it possible, combined, those who have the most to lose outnumber those who want to do away with it? Also why would any right thinking man or woman want to take away a benefit essential to their family’s well being and best interests?
All of us might want to also consider how future employment prospects will evolve for our sons and daughters of any and all races. How long will it take for that anti-DEI/Anti-Affirmative Action mandate to filter down through every level of government as well as corporate, public and private sectors and every level of America’s job markets?
This is something I would hope Moderates, Liberals and right thinking Conservatives, Democrats, Republicans as well as Independents are already clearly, maturely and soberly more than thinking seriously about!
DEI/Affirmative Action has clearly been in the interest of every facet of American life. It’s helped liberate women and minorities from oppressive gender discrimination.
But most importantly, it’s preserved and championed the best and most effective protection the nation ever produced to guarantee and insure the American Dream. A Constitutionally protected dream “for the people and by the people”!
