Two Women-Owned Companies To Host Empowerment Brunch For Black Women
NORFOLK
On Sunday, August 14, women throughout Hampton Roads will come together for the inaugural EmpoweringHER Brunch. The event will take place at The Room NFK in Norfolk at noon, will celebrate powerful Black women in the Tidewater area and provide the ultimate networking experience. Organized by two Black, women-owned companies including Secoya Holmes of Bliss Event Planning & Consulting and Keisha Reynolds of K&R Communications, the event is for the entrepreneur, stay-at-home mom, career woman, blogger and more.
Leaning on the theme of collaboration not competition, each EmpoweringHER Brunch will focus on a different topic related to the empowerment of women including finances, business plans, relationship building and parenting. The first brunch in this series will focus on the art of branding, which is one of the most important aspects of any business, personal brand or blog. Keynote speaker Shelia Harrison, director of marketing and public relations at Nauticus, will lead the discussion.
“What started out as two girls in grad school has blossomed into two successful business owners and a friendship like no other,” said Reynolds. “We’ve figured, if we could create that same camaraderie among women in Hampton Roads, we could bridge the gap and build a tremendous sisterhood with like-minded individuals. There is no event or partnership like this in the Tidewater area.” Tickets for the brunch are available at EmpoweringHERbrunch.com with the early bird special lasting until July 15. Vendor and sponsorship opportunities are also available.
