Social and Civic Whirl: Chesapeake-Va. Beach Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Host Jabberwock 2017 Extravaganza

Jabberwock 2017 was truly an event of the year!!! The members of the Chesapeake – Virginia Beach Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. hosted their biennial cotillion on Sunday April 23 at the Westin Hotel in Virginia Beach. Nine lovely “Ladies Poised with Love, Leadership and Pride” participated in this scholarship-fundraising event. The extravaganza was the culminating activity of a 7 month long cycle that included involvement in a variety of educational, cultural, community service and social activities.
Chapter President Andrenette Ingram, Jabberwock Chair Nanocie “Toni” Diggs and Co-chairs Sandra Anderson and Patricia Thomas Holmes proudly presented the winners of the fundraising event.
The newly crowned Miss Jabberwock 2017 is Zoe Granger. (center with crown) Zoe is a senior at Western Branch High School in Chesapeake where she is a member of the Cosmetology Club and the Photography Club. She also participates with the Oasis Meal Program. The Jabberwock court consist of 1st Runner-up Destiny Ward (to Zoe’s left) a senior at Oscar F. Smith High School, Chesapeake and 2nd runner up, Jameela Ali (to Zoe’s right) a junior at Deep Creek High School, Chesapeake.
Additional awards were given to Diamond Fayton, Destiny Ward and Maya Brown for highest GPAs; Jordan Yowell for the Community Service Award and Zoe Granger for Miss Congeniality.
