October 7: ODU Women’s Business Center To Present Seminar For Artists
NORFOLK
An entrepreneur seminar and networking opportunity for artists is being presented by the Women’s Business Center at the ODU Business Gateway in partnership with the City of Norfolk Department of Development. The 3rd annual “Invoking Art as Business” will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, at the Slover Library in downtown Norfolk,
This seminar is designed for all artists – whether they are just starting out or are looking for a new way to infuse new energy into their arts business. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional artists, artisans, musicians, photographers, and performers are encouraged to attend.
During the day-long event, artists should be ready for creative engagement with time woven in for making valuable connections with other area artists and artisans. Artists are encouraged to bring one piece of work for a “Pop-Up Art Show” that will allow artists to showcase their work and see that of other artists/artisans in the region. All artwork, along with applicable easels and display props, must be in place by 8:15 a.m. Tables will be available for display set-ups.
Advanced registration, which includes light morning refreshments and lunch, is required for the seminar.
