Oct. 3: in Portsmouth Book Publisher To Appear at Library Museum and Children’s Museum

PORTSMOUTH
Cheryl Willis Hudson, vice president and editorial director of Just Us Books, will appear at two locations in her native Portsmouth on October 3.
Hudson, who is an independent publisher of Black interest books for children and adults, will share her memories and remembers her family ties to Portsmouth during Saturday Conversations from 10 a.m.-noon at the Portsmouth Community Colored Library. She will also share her experiences about creating books for children. Families are welcomed. This event is free and open to the public.
That same day from 2-2:45 p.m. at the Children’s Museum, she will share her stories with music for children to participate in role playing with her book, My Friend Maya Loves to Dance. Her story telling will also engage children in call and response participation.
A Portsmouth native, Ms. Willis Hudson reads from books that have contributed to making more African-American and multi-cultural books available in the market place. The storytelling will be followed by a book signing in the Children’s Museum bookstore. Included with museum admission. Free for members.
