Norfolk to Hold Shoot Hoops, Not Guns Basketball Tournament, Aug. 15th
The City of Norfolk’s Department of Neighborhood Development is sponsoring its Second Annual Shoot Hoops, Not Guns Basketball Tournament.
The purpose of this event is to demystify the roles police officers play in Norfolk; in addition to, bridging the divide between residents of Norfolk and local law enforcement. The initiative also strives to spread awareness of gun violence in the community and teach prevention through positive alternatives.
To participate in the basketball tournament participants must be at least 15 years old and complete the tournament registration form. The registration deadline is Friday, August 7, 2015
