Norfolk SPCA Announces Gala to Celebrate 125th Anniversary And Reflects on History

The Norfolk SPCA announces a special gala early next year to celebrate its 125th anniversary serving Hampton Roads. Scheduled for Friday evening, February 10, the event will mark twelve and a half decades of helping both animals and people through programs including sheltering, adoptions, humane education, advocacy for animal-friendly public policy, and an affordable public veterinary clinic.
The gala will take place in the Rose Garden Hall of Norfolk Botanical Garden at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $125 each and tables with eight seats cost $1,000. Special sponsorship opportunities are available. Only 200 seats will be for sale. Tickets can be purchased through the NorfolkSPCA.org website, or by visiting or calling the shelter at 757-622-3319 ext. 106.
The Norfolk SPCA is seeking a keynote speaker for the event and is awaiting confirmation from requests. Norfolk City Council members Angelia Williams Graves and Thomas Smigiel will provide remarks and share a city proclamation commemorating the milestone anniversary, and Hampton Roads historian Robert Hitchings will present a brief history of the Norfolk SPCA. Cheryl Nelson and April Woodard, co-hosts of WTKR News 3’s “Coast Live,” will emcee.
