Norfolk Hires Liaison Officer To Enhance Relations With Military

NORFOLK
The City of Norfolk recently hired a liaison officer to all military commissions, such as the Military Economic Development Advisory Committee and Veteran Affairs Commission.
Bonnie Baker will work within the Department of Development as a Special Assistant to the City’s City Manager Marcus Jones. Her job entails building on community efforts to attract and retain talent from transitioning service members and to enhance relationships with military installations, active duty members, veterans, and their families.
Prior to accepting the position with the City of Norfolk, Baker was President/Owner of Athene Consulting, LLC. and Senior Analyst for J.L. Marshall & Associates. She retired as a U.S. Army Colonel in 2008 after serving the nation for more than 25 years.
Baker has been a resident of Norfolk since 2000 and is active in the community.
