Moral Pollution

By Dr. Vivian Anderson Are we truly concerned about how the BIBLE defines and clarifies the last days of man’s history upon this planet earth? Do we realize that the pages of the BIBLE are truly being fulfilled each and every day, therefore, I can readily claim, define and repeat that we are living amid the perils of the last days because iniquity and wickedness abound and the love of many has waxed cold. The word “many” refers to the professed followers of CHRIST. They are affected by the prevailing iniquity and backsliders from GOD, but it is not necessary that they should be thus affected. The cause of this declension is that they do not stand clear from this iniquity. The facts that their love of GOD is waxing cold is because the iniquity that abounds shows that they are, in some sense, partakers in this iniquity, or it would not affect their love for GOD and their zeal and fervor in HIS cause. A terrible picture of the condition of the world is being presented before us every day in the daily news and from many pulpits. Immorality abounds everywhere. Licentiousness, the special sin of this age, is everywhere. Never did vice lift its deformed head with such boldness as now. The people seem to be numbed, and the lovers of virtue and true godliness are nearly discouraged by its boldness, strength, and prevalence. The iniquity which abounds is not merely confined to the unbelievers and scoffers. Many men and women professing the religion of CHRIST are guilty. Even some who profess to be looking for HIS soon appearing are no more prepared for that event than Satan himself. They are not cleaning themselves from all pollution. They have so longed served their lustful appetites that it is natural for their thoughts to be impure and their imaginations corrupt. It is as impossible to cause their minds to dwell upon pure and holy things as it would be to turn the course of Niagara and send its waters pouring up the falls. Please do not think that I am trying to claim perfection but this ‘Moral Pollution’ can easily be defined by many who are ignoring what it takes to live and not discern the signs of the times, which were spoken by CHRIST and given to those during HIS life on earth to carry HIS Word to the end of time. We all have a responsibility to not neglect these signs of the times that are speaking loud and clear. Some who make high profession do not understand the sin of perverted appetite and based passions and their sure results. “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the HOLY GHOST which is in you, which ye have of GOD, and ye are not your own? For ye are brought with a price: therefore Glorify GOD in your body, and in your Spirit, which are GOD’s.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. “Know ye not that ye are the temple of GOD, and that the SPIRIT of GOD dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of GOD, him shall GOD destroy; for the temple of GOD is Holy, which temple ye are.” 1 Corinthians 3:16-17. We are not our own. We have been purchased with a dear price, even the sufferings and death of the SON of GOD. If we could understand this, and fully realize it, we would feel a need for a decided change. The brain nerves which communicate with the entire system are the only medium through which Heaven can communicate to man and affect his innermost life. Whatever disturbs the circulation of the electric currents in the nervous system lessen the strength of the vital powers, and the result is a deadening of the sensibilities of the mind. In consideration of these facts, how important it is that ministers and people who profess godliness should stand forth clear and untainted from these vices. Some will acknowledge the evil of sinful indulgences, yet will excuse themselves by saying that they cannot overcome their perverted appetites and based passions. This is a terrible admission for any person to make who names CHRIST. If ever there was a time when the diet should be the most simple kind, it is now. MEAT should never be placed before us or our children. Its influence is to excite and strengthen the lower passions, and has a tendency to deaden the moral powers. Grains and fruits prepared free from grease, and in as natural a condition as possible, should be the food for the tables of all who claim to be preparing for TRANSLATION to HEAVEN. The less feverish the diet, the more easily can the passion be controlled. Indulgence of perverted appetites and based passion will lead many to shut their eyes to the light, for they fear that they will see sins which they are unwilling to forsake. All may see if they will.. If they choose darkness rather than light, their criminality will be none the less. Why don’t men and women READ, and become intelligent upon these things which so decidedly affect their physical, intellectual, and moral strength? GOD has given you a habitation, your body, to care for and preserve in the best condition for HIS Services and Glory. When we take any course which expends our vitality, decreases our strength, or beclouds the intellect we sin against GOD. In pursuing this course we are not glorifying HIM in our bodies and Spirits which are HIS, but are committing a great wrong in HIS sight. “I beseech you therefore brethren by the mercy of GOD, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto GOD, which is your reasonable service. “And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of GOD.” Romans 12:1-2.
