Marriner’s Moments: REvival of the Heart – Part 4

By Pastor Melvin O. Marriner
Grove Church
Revival of the heart is a beautiful thing, but it’s not until we live with the assurance that we have in Christ, that we have the insurance. We must begin to live with that assurance, in order to have a revival of the heart. Hebrews 6:11 reminds us that “we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end.” That is God’s will for each of us.
From time to time we all doubt ourselves and sometimes we even doubt God. We become frustrated, disillusioned or disappointed in life. Sin, guilt, disobedience and trials are just some of the many reasons we lose hope or allow the world to steal ‘the joy of our salvation.’ When we find ourselves lacking assurance (or hope) that we have in Christ, when our joy is gone, or when worship becomes empty, and our praise is stiff or weak there is a remedy: begin to obey God’s Word and seek the power of the Spirit through prayer. Stand firm on God’s promises and when in prayer – which should be a dialogue, not a monologue – spend time listening to what God speaks to your heart.
Draw from the spirit of God. He has the power to challenge and change our thoughts and revive our hearts. Trust God’s truth (His gift to us). Trust God for your tomorrow and for your revival of the heart. Peace and power,
