Marriner’s Moment: ReIgniting the Fire – Part 4

Reigniting the fire for Christ simply requires us to draw close to Him. We can do this by putting Him first in our lives and getting to know Him better – through studying His Word, praying and listening to Him. God never changes. He is always there and He desires to have a deeper relationship with each of us.
Give God the burden so you can see the blessing
When life gets complicated, confused or confounded, give those burdens to God. Pray for His guidance and revelation. 1 Corinthians 2:10 reads, “10 But[a] it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.” (NLT) When you understand God’s purpose, you can better appreciate the blessing. As you seek ways to reignite the fire, remember that God’s invitation to us is two-fold: He tells us to ‘Come to me’ (walk with God) and ‘Try me on for size’ (take my yoke). That yoke should not be a burden. It is a blessing. Reigniting the fire can end or calm life’s frustration and draw you closer to God!
