Marriner’s Moments: The ‘RE’ of ‘We’: Making a Positive Impact Together – Part III

By Pastor Melvin O. Marriner

PORTSMOUTH
Central to discovering our passion is knowing our purpose. Two of the most important days in our lives are the day we are born and the day we discover why. It’s not enough to do something out of obligation, tradition or because we think it is the right thing to do.
While those things are noble and we all, at one time or another, do things for these reasons, what happens when we get tired, bored or annoyed? Without passion, it is easy to give up, give in or walk away. With purpose and passion, we are more apt to put in the time, tears and effort – no matter what the cost.
As we approach 2016, the theme of the ‘RE of We’ provides each of us with an opportunity to REvisit and REflect on our lives – again and again – until our lives mirror the love and image of Christ.
Do you need to RE-evaluate your life to ensure you are pursuing your purpose and – if you are not – do you need to ask God to REveal it to you or to help you REdiscover your passion and RElease power within you to help you to become a greater, more impactful part of “WE”? I pray that each of us will REdedicate our lives to finding and fulfilling God’s purpose and passion for our lives in 2016, as we seek the “RE of We.”
May God bless you and your loved ones during this season of celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
