March 13: Covenant Presbyterian Church To Observe Women’s Day

NORFOLK
Covenant Presbyterian Church will observe its annual Women’s Day on Sunday, March 13, 2016, during the 11 a.m. worship hour. This year’s keynote speaker is Media Personality Barbara Hamm Lee, Executive Producer and Host of Another View, a weekly call in talk show on WHRO radio that “discusses today’s issues from an African-American perspective.”
She serves as Managing Director for SkillsOnline, WHRO’s workforce development initiative, and over the years, has held a number of positions at the public television station. Currently, she is the Chair of the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority, and serves on the board of a number of community agencies.
During the service, special musical selections will be rendered by noted classical vocalist Dr. Patrica Saunders Nixon. A community recognition award will be given to Mrs. Geraldine Boone, founder and director of the Hampton Roads Boys Choir.
Covenant is located at 913 Covenant Street, off Virginia Beach Blvd. near Park Avenue. Dr. Helen Byrd is the pastor.
