Local Voices: Trump, Pence and Sessions Must Go!

President Donald Trump ran his campaign on being a law and order President. But he has become one of the biggest violator of the law that he is supposed to defend. He is totally in disregard of the American laws and the Criminal Justice system.

According to media reports, he has violated multiple laws since he started his campaign and became President. One of the main laws he has broken was during his campaign when, in a campaign speech, he requested Vladimir Putin and the Russian government to hack Hillary Clinton’s personal emails and release them to the public. He illegally coordinated with his SuperPac during his campaign. He has violated election laws by emailing foreign officials to solicit political contributions. He offered his Housing and Urban Development Secretary, Dr. Ben Carson, a job in exchange for his endorsement. He ran afoul of the election laws by using campaign contributions to pay 6 million dollars to his own businesses.

Trump has shown the weakness of our justice system by the lack of action being taken against him for his ruthless behaviors. Is he above the law? Had President Obama done any of the things Trump has done, he probably would have been impeached and possibly jailed. It is amazing how the Republicans who preach law and order allow Trump to continue to violate the laws of the country and do nothing to reprimand or prosecute him. I guess the Republicans, for the hatred of Obama and the love of money, are too busy trying to repeal Obama Care and destroy health care for millions of people, while Trump divides the country among the rich and poor and emboldens the racists to act out their racist behaviors!

Attorney General Jeff Sessions should be the one to prosecute Trump, but he is too busy killing laws that impact the common good and development of people’s lives. He has killed the maximum minimal law which prevented judges from using the maximum punishment for all cocaine and crack cocaine crimes. He has killed the Medical Marijuana law. He has killed the Department of Justice Settlement Practice that funded community organizations. He is in the process of killing the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) law.

A few weeks ago, I wrote an article entitled, “Don’t Impeach Trump Yet!” I wrote that article because of my fear of Vice President Pence becoming President. I felt that having Pence as President would be worse than keeping Trump. I have since changed my mind about that. Trump, Sessions and Pence, as well as the Republican Congress, are a cesspool and the smell is reeking over America. Who are these people who are supposed to be representing the American people? Where did they come from? Are they truly Americans or aliens from outer space? America needs a restart before we are destroyed by the people who are supposed to protect us. As an American, I feel somewhat helpless being controlled by a few mongrel lords who are selfish and care nothing about the American people but always refer to, “The American people” in their selfish doings.

As I was writing this article I read an article in the local daily newspaper written about Pharrell Williams from Virginia Beach who won a Grammy at the Hip Hop Honors Banquet. He made a statement to the audience referring to the wall President Trump is talking about building on the U.S, Mexican border. Williams said, “The enemy is this divisive mentality. It’s on this side of the wall, guys and girls. It’s already here. The white nationalists are walking toward your future. What’chu going to do?”

I thought that was a good and needed statement made before the right audience. I am glad to hear the citizens of the so-called generation X are understanding how racism impacts the country and their lives.

I am especially pleased that Black entertainers, including athletes who are the most popular and financially wealthy among Black people, are demonstrating and speaking out on these issues. They should have the strongest voice for addressing Black issues.
