Leonard E. Parson
This Norfolk native is a 1967 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. He furthered his academic studies and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1972 from Norfolk State University.
Leonard is known to the community as a business man with a heart for the people. During the early 1980s, as the President of Quality Food Stores, he was noted as one of the largest employers of African Americans in the Peninsula. During his time in the Newport News area, he sponsored one of the largest feeding programs for the elderly. He also was instrumental in securing the first swimming pool for the Boys & Girls Club in the Peninsula.
