The Norfolk (VA) Alumni Chapter, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Guide Right Program Director, John “JP” Paige and Kappa League Coordinator, Hughes Valmond, invited all of the Eastern Province of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Region 5 Guide Right Programs to “just show up” April 5, 2016, for the annual exhibition baseball game at Harbour Park between the Norfolk Tides and Norfolk State University.
Although Norfolk State University was unsuccessful in its quest for a win, the kids and Kappas had a great time. More than 100 youth, parents, and mentors showed up. Kids from the Huntersville neighborhood, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, and Chesapeake, Azalea Garden Middle School, churches, and several small business were admitted free, and were provided refreshments and food.
