Inspirational Message: God’s Righteousness and Faithfulness Strengthen Us!

By Gladys McElmore

Being faithful believers in God’s word, we predictably accept wholeheartedly His promises that give us assurance of being conquerors of our human weaknesses. Who can separate us from His love? We continue to know, with supporting biblical facts, that God is our helper according to His will. Fortunately for all believers, Christ Jesus who died and rose to life again intercedes for us. Can worldly problems overwhelm us? Since we are not ever separated from God’s love, we always know that help is on the way! God is only asking us to trust Him as we seek to solve our problems with His help.

How are we assured of our conquering power? We might believe and live by the teachings of the Holy Spirit and not by fleshly desires. For whatever the law of sin was powerless to do, being weakened by the flesh, God did by sending His Son as a sin offering for us (Romans 8:1-4)! In today’s world, how is sin conquered? Daily we as believers must seek God’s help through unceasing prayer and Scripture readings that create steadfastness in our spiritual thinking.

God’s assurance is needed for our peace of mind. Many Bible verses encourage us as believers to give full attention to our support from God. “The Peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7). How can we become free from indwelling sin? We must try to walk or live according to the Holy Spirit and not by our own fleshly weaknesses. God made this possible when He sent His Son to save us from our sins. To be spiritually minded gives us peace and life. The Spirit of God lives in us and guides us as flesh that cannot please God. “We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).

God’s love is everlasting. If God is our way maker, who can be against us or does it matter? God sacrificed His Son for our salvation. He justifies and condemns us according to His will. Can we be separated from the love of God? It is impossible for any of our problems, known or unknown, to cause the loss of God’s love! This makes us more than conquerors of weaknesses of the flesh. Without God’s love we cannot survive the daily pitfalls that occur. God does not want us to fail. He helps us to become all that is possible for His sake.

We must continue to believe that we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us. Worldly problems in all of creation will not be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus. How are we to understand God’s justice? God does not depend on man’s desires (Romans 9:16). He makes His choice to have mercy on us. God who controls all is to be forever praised.

In Romans 8-9, Paul taught them and also left lessons for us today that because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ we are not condemned to keep on sinning. What is the secret for a better life today? God assures us, as conquerors of sin, through the Holy Spirit that Jesus lives in us. The Spirit’s power is presently here to help us in spite of Satan’s fiery darts. How can we respond today and let God’s Spirit strengthen us? Let us continue to ask God for overcoming power with faith in Him.

Let us continue to thank God with unceasing prayers for His love and the strength that He gives us to overcome the enslavement of sin through His Son who is our Savior. Only God, through Christ Jesus, can free us from this life that is dominated by our sins. We are not to compare the sufferings of today’s world with the everlasting glory which God will reveal to us. With new problems constantly appearing, how are we to pray? The Spirit of God helps in our weaknesses and makes intercessions for us. How can we keep hope alive? As we grow spiritually, we undoubtedly learn to hope for unseen blessings and wait on God with faithful minds. Thank God through Jesus Christ for the ability to serve Him daily because His Spirit dwells in us who believe in Him!

Let us thank God in all situations. Individually each of us can brainstorm a list of God’s mercies and love. God tells us through Paul in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
