Inspirational Message: God Is Light Through Jesus Christ

John wants us as Christian believers, to know that when we tell God about our sins, He will forgive us. Jesus advises us that God is light and there is no darkness in Him at all. Wise people live according to the light of God’s law and His presence. How seriously are we thinking about the consequences of not accepting God as our light and our salvation through Jesus Christ? God is light and to engage in fellowship with Him, we must continuously walk in light and not in darkness. While watching and praying, we are not to fall in love with the world and become sidetracked by false prophets who will lure us away from the true meaning of God’s word. Faith in God through Jesus Christ will lighten our pathways each day. With God there is no darkness. God not only gives us light, He is the light and His light never goes out!

John further explains that if we say that we share in life with God and keep on living in the dark, we are not living the truth. If we live in the light, as God does, we share in the Christian life with each other. The blood of Jesus washes all of our sins away. It may be good to confess our sins to God who can be trusted to forgive us and take away our sins. Warnings are listed in these two chapters against not being honest with God. How beautiful it is to face the truth about ourselves!

Jesus Christ is always the intercessor to speak to the father for us. Christ is the sacrifice that takes away our sins and the sins of the entire world. What an awesome God we serve! To those of us who respond to His call and give Him our lives, He will provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13) Read 1 John 2:18-25 which describe the enemies of Christ. We are not to love the world and follow unbelievers. We, as a community of faith, know the truth and this is what we must follow. False pride and our selfish desires can direct us to think that everything we need comes from the world and definitely not from the Father (1 John 2:15-17). With God as a sustaining light, His people will survive the darkness of our world prayerfully with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

We truly love God when we obey Him. Does it do any good to claim to know Him and remain disobedient? This kind of behavior lets the world know that the truth is not in us. We truly love God only when we obey Him as we should, and then we know that we belong to Him. Being truthful, if we say that we belong to Him, we must follow the examples of Christ as we consider unthinkable opportunities, dare to meet new challenges or become innovative and technological in skills

As positive changes in our lives appear, we can see the darkness fading and true light appearing as we begin to love our enemies and those who draw strength from our efforts to follow God’s laws. When we are living in the dark we do not know where we are going because we cannot see in the dark. These Scriptures have been written to encourage us as our sins are forgiven in the name of Christ, because we have known the ONE who has always been with us and most importantly as we hope to remain strong. Let God’s messages remain firm in our hearts as we continue our daily journey toward eternal life!
