Implement the King Dream Awards Banquet

The Chesapeake Conference Center was the site April 7 for the 22nd Implement the King Dream Awards Banquet presented by Karen Mitchell of Unique K Productions.

The Chesapeake Conference Center was the site April 7 for the 22nd Implement the King Dream Awards Banquet presented by Karen Mitchell of Unique K Productions.
This event pays tribute to area persons whose lives exemplify the life and contributions of Dr. Martin L. King, Jr.
A spirited keynote address was delivered by Dr. Debra Haggins, Hampton University Chaplain. Adding musical entertainment to the program were six-year-old vocalist Caleb T. Sarrano of Greensboro, N.C.; vocalist Dr. Peggy Britt; and radio DJ Doc Christian.
Awards were given to Dan Banister, Mother Audrey Manley, Audrey Mosley, Latrece William-McKnight, Congressman Bobby Scott, and Rev. James W. Washington. New Journal and Guide Publisher Brenda H. Andrews served as the M.C.
