NORFOLK
Hurricane Isaias roared through Hampton Roads on Tuesday morning and destroyed the front wall of First Baptist Church-Lamberts Point. Emergency personnel were on hand to tape off the area and remove debris. The historic church was founded in 1893 and is currently pastored by Rev. Anthony Paige. The church finished a major renovation and expansion project a few years ago. Onlookers told the Guide that the members of First Baptist-Lamberts Point are a very resilient congregation and are confident that the members will rebuild the church into a beautiful new place of worship.
