Smoothing out Washington, D.C. and Hampton Roads radio— it’s Jay Lang, Author of his 1st Motivational Book “Wisdom From The Jazzman”.
Lang is Station Manager at Hampton University’s 88.1 WHOV, and President & CEO of Smooth Jazz America Broadcasting.
Prior to coming to Hampton University’s WHOV, he was a top rated Evening Air Personality at Washington, D.C., and Program Director & Evening Personality at WJCD Smooth Jazz 105.3 in Norfolk, VA. He began his career in 1974 in Savannah, Georgia. As Program & Music Director for 11 years, he engineered the success of WPLZ-Magic 99/Richmond. His earlier years also graced the airwaves of WIGO/Atlanta.
In addition to working on air, he became entertainment editor for Night Moves Magazine, enjoyed a successful four year run as host and producer of a weekly TV entertainment show in Richmond, worked in a few films, produced records, produced dozens of concerts, and served as producer/host of a weekly one hour public affairs program, Jay is currently an internationally known voiceover talent with Studio Center Worldwide Audio. His voice is heard on Time Life Music’s collection series of soul CDs, as well as TV and internet commercials throughout the United States, Europe, The Caribbean, Africa and England. He and his lovely wife Priscilla have one daughter, three sons and seven grandchildren.
