Gospel Legend Twinkie Clark To Perform At 2nd Annual Soulful Christmas Celebration

Norfolk will be the buzz of the state on Sunday, December 27, 2015 when the 2nd Annual Twinkie Clark’s Soulful Christmas Celebration begins at 5:30 p.m.. Doors will open at 5 p.m. at New Calvary Baptist Church – 800 East Va. Beach Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23504
The Grammy and Stellar Award Winner national musical icon Twinkie Clark of the famous Clark Sisters will be the keynote performer for this event. Clark, also known as “The Queen of the Hammond B-3 Organ,” and Moses Tyson, “King of the Hammond B3 Organ,” kicked off a first in music history in Norfolk in 2013 when they were featured both playing the Hammond B3 Organ together.
Elbernita “Twinkie” Clark has been described as “a musical genius … the maestro … gifted musician, anointed vocalist…and a true worshipper. She also is considered the heart and soul of the Clark Sisters.
Twinkie, also called “The Mother of Contemporary Gospel,” in many respects, has been the creative force in shaping the vibrant sound that has become the Clark Sisters’ hallmark. It is more affectionately known as the “Clark Sound.” In the history of Gospel music, she has quickly become a legend in her own right.
Through a vast array of audiences, critics and peers, she is considered by many Gospel artists to not only be Gospel music’s greatest, but also holds the undisputed title of “Queen of the Hammond B3 Organ.”
Also, making a special guest performance from the Clark Sisters will be Grammy & Stellar Award winner, Author and Evangelist Jacky Clark Chisolm. An additional family member performing will be GRAMMY Award-nominated, GMA Dove Award and Stellar Award winning recording artist and songwriter Kierra Sheard, whose fourth album, “FREE,” is topping the Billboards. She also serves as a judge on the popular national gospel singing showcase “Sunday Best” on BET.
Produced by Unique K Productions, this Soulful Christmas Celebration will also feature some of VA’s most gifted national Gospel recording artists as Michael M. Smith, Patrick Riddick & D’vyne Worship (with newly recorded “Ready” CD), guitarist William “Mobetta” Ledbetter, New Calvary’s JUDAH Singers, Soloist Dorian Davis, Javien Crawley & The Hills’ Kidz of First Baptist Church South Hill. Guest MCs will be Pastor Peggy Britt, Colby Hurd ( WHOV 88.1fm) and Gospel artist Titus Jackson.
