Free Covid-19 Testing In Chesapeake

On Friday June 26, some of Chesapeake community leaders came together to provide free Covid-19 testing to the South Norfolk community. The effort was spearheaded by the Chesapeake Rx Pharmacy, recently opened at 2244 Bainbridge Blvd and its Chief Administrative Officer Robert G. Culpepper.
There were plenty of tents on site filled with volunteers providing information on how to stay healthy and safe during this pandemic. I estimated 150 people were on hand while I was there, receiving many free gifts.
Some of the volunteers on this day were The Virginia Office of Diversity and inclusion, Buffalow Family and Friends, and the Chesapeake Health Department. Councilwoman, Dr. Ella Ward was also on hand to survey the success of this community event.
This was the fourth Covid-Testing site in the city. They also participated at McDonalds Manor and the Mount. In a couple of weeks, the plan is to set up at Dr. Clarence Cuffee Community Center.
The purpose for these testing is simple… service those in need who want assurance that they are not infected and are not a potential carrier for the virus.
