February 17: Dance Of Decades Party To Debut as Scholarship Fundraiser

The Virginia Beach Travel and Tourism Foundation (VBTTF) is hosting its first dance party to raise dollars for college students with plans to enter the industry. Decades of Dance will be on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, 1000 19th Street.
Party goers can come dressed in their favorite decade – flappers to rappers – from the 1920’s right up to now! Sounds of the 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond will be blasting with a DJ. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will be served. There will be dance contests – the twist, the robot, freestyle and much more, including a best costume contest.
Net proceeds will go to the James B. Ricketts Memorial Scholarship Fund named for the city’s long-serving Director of the Department of Conventions and Visitor Development who passed away last year. Thousands of dollars in scholarships have been awarded to deserving students from colleges and universities in various disciplines of study over the past four years.
Those who plan to attend Decades of Dance, can receive a 10% discount at Echoes of Time, a vintage clothing and costume shop, located at 600 N. Witchduck Road, #102 in Virginia Beach – www.echoes-of-time.com. Just mention you’re going to Decades of Dance!
