Dominion Welcomes New External Affairs Manager

HAMPTON ROADS
Meet Troy Lindsey, new External Affairs Manager for Dominion Virginia Power. Lindsey, who’s been with Dominion for 16 years, looks forward to being a liaison for the company with elected officials, community leaders and non-profit organizations in South Hampton Roads.

Previously, he was a Key Account Representative, supporting Dominion’s largest customers, including the U.S. Navy, Newport News Shipbuilding and Smithfield Foods. His experience with Dominion also includes work with customer service and the design of the electric distribution system.

“I love working at Dominion, because we touch everyone’s lives and have the opportunity to make a positive difference,” said Lindsey. “This new role will allow me to have a greater impact, helping Dominion communicate and invest in our communities.”

Lindsey hit the ground running in his new position; accepting awards on behalf of Dominion from Naval Air Station Oceana for coordinating a STEM educational program; and STOP Inc. for Dominion’s partnership making homes more energy efficient.

Lindsey grew up in a military family that settled in Chesapeake when his father retired. Before that, the family lived in Hawaii, San Diego, Long Beach, CA and Charleston, S.C. He went to three different high schools, graduating from Indian River High School. Lindsey and his wife Angela have two children, Brandon & Jordan.

Lindsey became the first member of his family to go to college, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Norfolk State University. He also pledged Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and is proud to be a Life Member. Lindsey enjoys spending time with his family; cooking – he does all the holiday cooking; and worshipping at Grove Baptist Church in Portsmouth.
His favorite quote is from the late Mahalia Jackson: “If I could help somebody, as I pass along, If I can cheer somebody, with a word or song, If I could show somebody, how they’re travelling wrong, Then my living shall not be in vain.”
