Dominion Announces Education Grants

RICHMOND
Dominion is accepting applications for educational grants up to $50,000 for higher ed projects and $2500 for K-12 programs. Grants will focus on energy, environment and workforce development. The deadline is May 31st for online applications. Dominion announced also it will provide $1 million in educational grants to schools within the company’s geographic footprint through its philanthropic arm, the Dominion Foundation. The grants will focus on outstanding energy and environmental programs for students from kindergarten through college. The higher education grants also will include workforce development programs.
“As an energy company, we believe it is important to encourage young people to learn and gain experience with the advanced technologies that will protect the environment while providing a secure energy future for generations to come,” said Hunter A. Applewhite, president-Dominion Foundation. Eligible organizations in targeted areas of Connecticut, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and other areas within Dominion’s footprint can submit applications through May 31.
