Black Church
Covenant Presbyterian Makes Surprise Presentation
NORFOLK
Sunday September 13 was Friends and Family Day at Covenant Presbyterian Church where Rev. Dr. Helen Bessent Byrd is the pastor. The occasion was made extra special for one of the church’s elder, Brenda H. Andrews, New Journal and Guide Publisher, who was presented a service and appreciation plaque from her church family for her contributions to the church.
Elder Andrews is an ordained elder at Covenant where she is active in many facets of the church, including teaching an adult Sunday School Class each week. A speechless Elder Andrews graciously and thankfully accepted the gift that caught her completely by surprise.
