Congressman McEachin Announces Three Grants to Help Youth

RICHMOND
Congressman Donald McEachin recently announced three grants that will help Virginia youth.
The first grant of $736,000 was awarded to the Virginia Department of Health to provide resources for the Virginia Youth Suicide Prevention Program. The other two grants were awarded to Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) for two studies with adolescents – drug abuse vulnerability and interval training in treating obesity.
“I am so pleased to see these critical funds come into the Commonwealth, said Congressman Donald McEachin. “Our children are our most valuable resource and to work towards ways to improve their health and safety is paramount.”
VCU was awarded $193,750 to research drug abuse vulnerability and $204,028 to research interval training in treating obesity.
