Confused Mind
By Belle
Our carefree summer perfect love
Lies locked in frozen memories
Of feel good times and abrupt end
That bring me to this poem.
I’m writing ‘cause I need some help
My mind is so confused
I know it was no single thing from me
That caused your flight
But was it your toy with love
Which spent when pressed to light?
And,
Do I wish for you the best
As I make my curtain bow?
And
As for me—
(Or do you care?)
Do now I say farewell?
And
I truly pray your answer here
Will my goodbye make me exhale?
There’s just one thing that is perfectly clear
And that one thing is this
A mind
IS
a terrible thing to confuse.
