The Women’s Division Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce held its 51st Annual Banquet and Installation of Officers on Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Chesapeake Conference Center.
The occasion included the presentation of the 2017 Woman of the Year, Nichelle Buffalow, a community activist in Chesapeake who hosts several free community events annually to support low income persons. Among her outreach efforts in association with members of her family and a host of volunteers are Back-to-School give-aways to families and children; Thanksgiving and Christmas giveaways; and summer neighborhood gatherings.
Dr. Ella Ward, a member of the group’s Board of Directors, installed the members of the 2018 Board Of Directors. The new president is Kimberley Hobbs, who served as the 2017 First Vice President.
