Chesapeake NAACP HostS Annual Freedom Fund Banquet

CHESAPEAKE
The Chesapeake Branch NAACP hosted its 52nd Freedom Fund observance with a luncheon on September 16 at the Chesapeake Marriott.
This year’s speaker was Attorney Toussaint C. Romain, Assistant Public Defender from Charlotte, N.C.
The program included musical selections from Delvin Joppy, who recently won gold for classical singing at the national NAACP ACTSO competition.
Chesapeake Mayor Alan Krasnoff brought greetings, as did U.S. Congressman Bobby Scott.
Others on the program were the branch President Helena L. Dodsont; LaValette Boney, Secretary; Rev. Dr. William H. Chatman; William A. Brown, II; Vonetta Jackson; and Leonard Brown.
