Carnival Cruise Winner

NORFOLK
During the recent summer convention of the National Newspaper Publishers Association of Black Publishers meeting in Norfolk, a raffle for two Carnival Cruise trips for two persons each was sponsored by the host publication, New Journal and Guide. The lucky raffle tickets were pulled during “An Evening With the Black Press” at the Attucks Theatre on June 30. Winner Charles K. Snowden of Chicago, Ill., was present to hear his name called by Publisher Brenda H. Andrews. The second winner, Brenda Chatman of Norfolk, was not present. Shown above is Mrs. Chatman (second from left) and her husband Rev. Dr. Chatman (at left) with Publisher Andrews and Anthony Daniels of Berkley, who convinced her to make the donation of $5.00.
