Bridge Corner: September 17, 2015

Hello and welcome to the Tidewater Bridge Unit (TBU).

Tidewater Bridge Unit members went back to school!  On Wednesday, September 9, 2015, TBU members were warmly welcomed by Ms. Vandelyn I. Hodges, Principal of St. Helena Elementary School.  The Bridge Unit has partnered with St. Helena to support the school’s theme and focus for the new academic year:  Planting Seeds of Success.

 During their visit to the school on September 9, the TBU members donated school supplies for St. Helena’s after-school program. Also, at the invitation of Ms. Hodges, the Tidewater Bridge Unit is developing a lesson plan for teaching bridge to the students involved in the after-school program.  Bridge helps to develop math, critical thinking, concentration, and social skills.  Ms. Hodges endorses the benefits and opportunities associated with a variety of early learning programs such as bridge instruction.

We are looking forward to working closely with the students and staff of St. Helena Elementary School.
