August 23 2015: Church Street Celebration To Offer Gospel Theme
NORFOLK
The City of Norfolk will hold its 2015 Church Street Celebration on Sunday, August 23 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the corner of Church Street and Virginia Beach Boulevard. Rev. Primas Paige & Heaven Bound gospel choir will headline the event.
This free gospel community event is open to the public and is a celebration of the rich musical history and talented musicians of Church Street. Doc Christian and Asia Symone of 88.1 WHOV’s Gospel Express will serve as emcees.
The day’s festivities will also feature local gospel choirs, speakers, solo artists and Christian rappers, to include Gethesemane Baptist Church, Garden of Prayer, Piney Grove Baptist Church, United House of Prayer, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bernard “PeeWee” Thompson, Rev. William Collins III & Rev. William Collins, JayEss and Honey in the Rock Praise Dancers
This is a family event. No seating will be provided so guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets. There will be food trucks on-site to purchase food and nonalcoholic beverages. No alcohol is permitted.
Parking is free and will be available in the parking lot adjacent to the Attucks Theatre.
If inclement weather occurs the event will be moved inside to the Attucks Theatre.
