An Experience of Ghana Held At Murray Center

NORFOLK
The Norfolk Sister City Association’s Tema, Ghana Committee hosted an “Experience of Ghana” on Saturday, March 12 at the Murray Center.
The festive occasion included storytelling by Atumpan Edutainment – Corey & LaQuita Staten; an educational video presentation on Ghana, narrated by Alex Asiedu; an African fashion show, featuring NSU students wearing original designs by Dr. Camellia Okpodu; and selected a photographic display of his trip to Ghana from the collection of photographer Ernest Lowery.
Ample samples of Ghanaian food prepared by Murray Center’s Chef Green delighted the palates of those in attendance. Four raffle drawings and door prizes rounded out an entertaining evening for about 150 guests.

The Norfolk Sister City Association is a non-profit civic organization which coordinates the activities of Norfolk’s sister cities program. Its purpose is to foster international understanding, friendship and cooperation through people-to-people exchanges and long-term partnerships between Norfolk and its sister cities, which includes Tema, Ghana. Charlene Christopher is the Interim Chairperson for the Tema Committee.
