AHA Hosts Luncheon For Women In Media
The Hampton Roads American Heart Association hosted its third annual Women in Media Luncheon at Norfolk’s Slover Library, uniting influential communicators to spotlight women’s cardiovascular health ahead of American Heart Month.

In preparation for American Heart Month in February, the Hampton Roads American Heart Association hosted its 3rd Annual-American Heart Association – Hampton Roads Women in Media Luncheon, on January 15, 2026 at the Slover Library. This nationally recognized AHA event brought together the Hampton Roads region’s most influential voices in media and communications. The occasion allowed the women in the room – many wearing signature red – to share stories and engage in a powerful conversation about women’s cardiovascular health, connectivity, and support at every age and stage of life. Directed by AHA’s Jaylyn Brown, the women in media heard from heart disease survivors and shared their own personal accounts of encounters with heart disease.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S. but impacts some communities disproportionately. Women left encouraged to join efforts around the country to promote heart health in Hampton Roads.
