A Song For Councilwoman Ward
CHESAPEAKE
Chesapeake City Councilwoman Dr. Ella Ward welcomed supporters and friends to her home for a campaign fundraising event on Saturday June 6. A highlight of the afternoon of food and fellowship was a solo by Miss Chesapeake 2015 Andolyn Medina, who won the coveted title on March 7 and is headed to the state pageant this month.
Medina, a Hickory High graduate and now a student at Hollins College, sang at a campaign rally for President Obama in 2012 and at the Miss America pageant in 2013. Dr. Ella Ward (right) is shown with Dr. Bill Ward, one of the sponsors of the fundraiser, and Miss Chesapeake.
