A Grand Reunion for Booker T. Washington High School
The Booker T. Foundation is sponsoring a Booker T. Washington (BTW) High School “GRAND REUNION” on Friday August 28 and Saturday, August 29, 2015. The Foundation members are inviting alumni, students, staff, administrators, family and friends of BTW to a ceremony naming the football field, in honor of long time coach, CAL W. DAVIDSON. This wonderful event will take place on Booker T’s tennis courts beginning at 6 p.m. Following the naming of the stadium, there will be a football game between Booker T. and Denbigh High at 6:45 p.m. “PRIDE” towels will be sold at the game for $6 each. Activities will continue, on Friday, the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity House located, in Norfolk, on Norfolk Square for $15 per person. Rev. Dr. Todd C. Davidson, son of Cal Davidson, will be the keynote speaker at a Breakfast Banquet, $24 per person, honoring ministers who have graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. The Banquet will be held at the Westin Hotel/Town Center in Virginia Beach. This affair will take place from 9:30 a.m. until noon on SATURDAY, AUGUST 29, 2015. Funds from this event will help provide scholarships, test fees, equipment, support programs and upkeep of facilities. All donations/checks should be made to the BOOKER T. FOUNDATION which is a 501-C3 IRS Tax Exempt Organization. Come out and celebrate the naming of the CAL W. DAVIDSON STADIUM and other activities with the BTW alumni and community on August 28 and 29, 2015. For more information and banquet reservations, call (757) 467-2319. BOOKER T. WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI CHOIR WILL PERFORM “O SING YOUR SONGS” On SUNDAY, AUGUST 16, 2015 Rev. Dr. William Small, Pastor and the congregation of New Calvary Baptist Church located at 800 East Virginia Beach Blvd. in Norfolk will open there doors, for a 5 p.m. CONCERT featuring the BOOKER T. ALUMNI CHOIR. After conducting this magnificent choir for 20 years and bringing an era to an end, Mrs. ANN BROOKS MCINNIS is retiring as director. What a LEGACY!!! This concert, which I am sure will be outstanding, is being sponsored by the Booker T. class of 1958 – THE LAST CLASS TO FINISH BOOKER T. BEFORE DESEGREGATION. This concert is FREE and OPEN to the Public. Proceeds from a Souvenir Journal and a collection/donation during intermission will benefit the class of 1958’s Scholarship Fund. I hope to see you at New Calvary at 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2015 to celebrate Mrs. Ann B. McInnis and the Booker T. Washington High School Alumni Choir. ***** Thank you for all your support!!
