Marriner’s Moment: REnewing the Spirit, Soul and Body – Part 4

By Pastor Melvin O. Marriner
Grove Church
This month, we are examining the importance of renewing the spirit, soul and body. The day-to-day, sometimes taxing responsibilities that come with life can be daunting and draining. To be our best, give our best and live our best life, it is important to find ways to renew our spirit, soul and body. Too often we become disenchanted and feel overwhelmed because we try to do everything in our strength, instead of allowing God to lead and direct. Some things are just not meant for us to do. Ask God for guidance and direction to help determine if what you are doing is what He wants you to do.
We can also learn how to approach ministry and life from following Jesus’ example; He relied on God to determine His priorities by:
• Prayerfully receiving His assignment from God.
• Giving Himself to fewer people.
• Saying ‘no’ to other legitimate needs (i.e., establishing boundaries).
Take some ‘down time’ this month or when you can. Spend some good, quality time with God. Rejuvenate yourself so that you can pursue your purpose with passion and power. Renew your spirit, soul and body.
Peace and power.
