Hampton Roads Educator Is President’s Awardee
RESTON, VA
Dr. Lillian Brinkley, a noted national educator and retired principal of Williard Middle School in Norfolk, is still winning awards for her contributions in the field of public school education. Pictured (centered) with Donna Kirby, Presdient of the Virginia Association of Elementary School Principals, and Jim Baldwin, Executive Director, Brinkley was awarded the President’s Award during the recent 2015 VAESP Annual Conference. Dr. Brinkley has over 50 years of experience in the field of education. She spent 37 years in Norfolk City Schools as teacher, reading specialist, and elementary principal.
She is known around the world for her work in the field of urban education. She has been recognized by more than 100 professional, state, federal, and civic agencies with numerous awards. She served as president of VAESP and NAESP and has been a continuous member of the association since 1973. She has appeared on many national television shows. She currently works as a consultant and mentor. She resides in Virginia Beach.
