BTWHS Supporters Prepare for Legacy Celebration

NORFOLK
The Booker T. Washington High School’s Concerned Citizens held its monthly meeting on Thursday, February 14 in preparation for the upcoming Celebration of the School’s Centennial.
On Saturday, February 23th, the celebration will begin at 11 a.m., with the Unveiling of the State Historic Highway Maker on the grounds of Booker T. Washington High School; followed by refreshments and a ceremonial meet and greet with local officials. The Celebration will continue from 6-9 p.m., with a Reception at the Decker Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center, at 1 Waterside Drive. The Reception is open to alumni, faculty, staff, and BTW concerned citizens; attire is dress casual.
Both events are free and open to the public. Members of the BTW Concerned Citizens, the Booker T. Washington High School PTA, and the Booker T. Washington Foundation have been working to present the 100 + years observance of Norfolk’s oldest historically Black High School. Events are free.
